Shot in a renovated, white factory space on the third floor, Anahi’s room could be anywhere and everywhere. It is a film about finding yourself through body movements, self-expressions and interactions between five performing artists and dancers. The performers have different nationalities and ages; from a girl around 9, a man and two women in their 30-40s (they are very different, have different appearance, different energy and express different sides of the same person). The last person is Jessie Kleemann; A woman who has had her part of world suffering and who – through an inner struggle and an unbeatable will to live and love – has moved from being an abandoned child in the hands of a group of abusive men to a powerful, strong-willed woman. Miss Kleemann reads poetry about crucial events in her life, from her childhood growing up in the north of Greenland, the driving forces behind her poetry and art, her fight with her past and her love for her lover. Events that have had significance for her personal development, self-understanding and acceptance. The stories will be used as lyrics in a soundtrack and mixed with the sounds of the performances; feet moving across the floor, hands waving, the almost unhearable wind outside. In addition, the artist will visualise the events of the stories through performance and dance in which they both express individual interpretations of the events and moods, as well as interacting with each other. In the end the borders between the five persons blur and it becomes clear that they might just be facets of the very same personality. The colours of the film are primarily red, white and black. The area outside is industrial. The film will take place at day and night time. The film is about the journey we must all travel regardless of our pre-conditions in life. It is about everything that exist between A and B. It is about our bodies, our souls and intellect. About self disgust and love, about touching and being touched. Anahi’s Room portraits Kleemann as an example of reconciliation with ones past. To quote the artist, ‘I’m a universal baby’.
